Calgary’s North West Quadrant provides a great place to live in Calgary. This area consists mostly of residential detached homes and small and large shopping centers. One of the biggest draws to this area is transportation. A Light Rail Transit (LRT) line runs directly from downtown through the North West Quadrant. This line stops by the University of Calgary and continues with frequent stops to the far reach of Tuscany station. (Opening Fall 2014).
North West Calgary communities that are within walking distance to the transit system include; Tuscany, Royal Oak, Rocky Ridge Ranch, Scenic Acres, Silver Springs, Ranchlands, Dalhousie, Varsity Acres, Banff Trail, Charleswood, Brentwood, Parkdale, West Hillhurst, and Briar Hill. Other Communities are close to the transit train system but, may require a short drive to the park and ride.
Prices for North West Detached homes range from the $300,000 right up to the $1,000,000 plus. Most of the areas average around $500,000 with pockets of higher end throughout. Bowness is an example of an older area with affordable detached homes starting on the $300,000. Newer affordable homes can be found in Evanston, Sage Hill and Nolan Hill usually starting in the $400,000’s.
North West Calgary has rolling hill topography with great access to city centre usually no more than 30 minutes away and less time as you get closer..
